Newspaper Shark craft!

This newspaper shark craft for kids is amazingly simple to make and is great for kids of all ages. We added the recycled element by using newspaper to make our sharks. I love the added texture the newspaper brings to the craft.

We started by cutting out our shark face shapes from our newspaper. The fun part about this craft is how everyone creates a personalized shark by how they cut out their face. You can make it skinny or wide, short or tall, however you choose.

We then cut out a shark mouth and teeth from our black and white card stock paper and glued them onto our shark faces, together with some eyes.

Finally, it was time to put our sharks into the sea.
The children were really excited about the craft.

The end result!

Angry Birds!

We had a great first cartoon character craft ECA. As our first craft, we decided to make 'angry birds'! The kids loved watching the cartoon and they needed very little guidance during the craft project. Here is what we did:

1.We painted a paper plate to match our angry bird.
2.We added on googly eyes and matching eyebrows to make them look angry.
3. We added the other facial features.
4.Finally, we added the chin.

By doing the above, the kids learnt how to control their movements smoothly and concisely. They also became more aware of face part, which goes in line with our current EY topic 'ourselves'.

Great job everyone! Have a look at the kids hard at work.
