Who knew that such magic could be made from old bottle tops and toilet rolls? The perfect craft to explore shape, colour and texture, creating a spectacular piece of art in the process!
We had so much fun looking for circles and I loved how the children seemed to look at items with new eyes; weighing up their printing potential and thinking ‘outside the box’. For very young children, this is a great way to introduce shapes.

Storybook art "My body!"

Every week a new student gets to choose the book for the week. This week Peam chose a book about "My body." We talked about the inside of our body and how it works and then we created our own human body using different materials. Take a look at some of the work the kids did! They all did very good at listening and following instructions as we put our body together. Some children started making their book cover for all of our future storybook art projects to go inside.

Pasta faces!

We had so much fun making art using pasta ! This week everyone is learning about 'ourselves' so we decided to make faces out of food. First, we looked at our faces in a mirror and talked about what we could see. Then we had a chat about what we can do with our ears, nose, mouth and eyes. Finally, we coloured some paper plates and used pasta to make a nose, mouth, ears, eyes and hair. It was so much fun and the children were talking about their faces while they were crafting.
Here is some of the finished work!

Balloon Painting fun!

We had so much fun filling our balloons with water and then choosing our own paint to make balloon imprints. After that we took forks and made floral  imprints on our canvasses.

The children were in charge of their own colour trays and it was great to see their imaginations take over.

When we finished our canvasses, we mixed all the different colours we had together and started making shapes and drawing what came to mind.

I had just as much fun with them.
