All things Airplane

We glued two pop sickle sticks  together to make a fuselage. Then we glued two more sticks together to make wings. I let the children decide how they wanted to make their airplanes and also heard some really good ideas. Some even made different kind of airplanes which was really great to see. They loved making this craft and everyone was engaged the whole time.

Ben and Holly love Gaston!

This week, our craft was all about Gaston the ladybird! Ben and Holly is a popular cartoon and the kids loved the idea of bringing the barking ladybird to life!

First, we used our fine motor skills to string pipecleaners through holes to make legs and the antenna. 

Then, we coloured the ladybird red and gave him spots. 

Finally, we gave Gaston his face! 

Bottle cap art (Fish)

Since we have been collecting recyclable material, I thought this was the perfect time to show the kids how o use it in art projects.

To make the fish you need a milk cap and a triangle shape cut from card stock paper. Start by gluing the triangle down on a blue sheet of paper. Squeeze some glue onto one of your paper plates. Dip your bottle cap into the glue to give it a generous amount all around the rim and then glue the milk cap down overlapping the triangle to make the fish shape. It came out beautifully and the children really enjoyed making them. 

We had a few minutes for mark making and texture painting at the end.
