Sand and Play: Sticky & slippery

This week for our ECA Sand and Play we had a sensory activity:

Sticky & slippery

We poor sand in cups first

 then we added little fish balls to describe the 'bumpy' sensation

 then we added glitter to make it shiny

then food coloring to play with color mixing

then we added googlies eyes ans sequins to make a monster

and finally we played with the left over with toothbrushes ' it felt like toothpaste'

ECA books and Craft

Today for our weekly ECA book and craft we read the story 'Stuck'. We colored a tree and tried to put all of the objects that got stuck on the tree!

Welcome parents to our ECA Sand & Play!

 Sand is a fantastic way for children to develop fine motor skills and eye and hand coordination.  By watching and doing and coordinating these actions it promotes creativity and imagination through role and developing stories.  For this term's ECA I will base the topic of each session according to the children's interests and topic taught in class by their homeroom teachers.

For our first session we learned a little song about the Ocean and played with rocks, seashells and many toy creatures from the Ocean!
