Science Club: Crayons are water-resistant!!

This week we learnt about how crayons are made of wax, just like a candle. We tried to mix markers and crayons with water and found that the market leaked into the water, but the crayons didn't.  So we tried and experiment and drew pictures with crayon then painted over them with very watery paint. The students were excited to see that their pictures did not disappear! We concluded that crayons are water resistant, since wax keeps away the water.

We then used this new technique to create an underwater world with crayons and water color paint.
