Fine motor spider making

The children tested out their fine motor skills with this spider making activity. It also happens to be perfect timing for Halloween! We had a lot of fun doing this activity! Some children were able to do the fine motor activity without guidance while some needed to be shown an example. It was interesting to see the different methods used to hold the spider legs together, some twisted it around the hole while other make a big knot so that it doesn't come out of the hole. This is an activity which can be repeated in Term 2 to compare how well the children have progressed in their fine motor abilities.

And look how well they turned out! Happy Halloween!

Paper plate snails

Our Paper Plate Snail is all about letting imaginations sparkle to create snails with very silly shells. The kids freely explored painting zig-zags, spots, stripes and splats and they worked  together well at each painting station.

When we finished our shells, I gave them a free flow activity and they it was great to see their creative minds working.

Making minion pencil holders

We had so much fun making minion pencil holders!! First we talked about the colours that we see on a minion. Then, we talked about where each part can go on the plastic cup. After that, the children were left to make the minions themselves. They asked questions occasionally but they were all able to do it without any support - it was great to see! Some of the kids even cut out the parts themselves!
